Vascular morphogenesis in chicken embryo yolk-sac
In various diseases damages occur during the adaptative growth of vascular network. Understanding how the vascular system forms could help to develop new treatment strategies and/or to improve the prevention of the onset of these diseases. In order to study vascular morphogenesis, we use different experimental models such as the chicken-embryo yolksac because it is a classic model widely used to study vasculogenesis. The aim is to make a correlation between the observations made in vivo with mechanical measurements in developing tissue. To do this, different techniques are used to perform measurements of velocities and visco-elastic properties.
