Digital in-line holography, measurement of refractive indices

In our laboratory, the application of holography to study 3D dynamics of flows has been validated for both macroscopic applications (water tunnel, power plants) and for microscopic flows (microfluidics measurements in drops). The objective of this PhD thesis is to extend the application of in line holography to refractive index measurement.

The candidate to this PhD subject must be highly motivated by developing optical metrology and 3D imaging systems. He has a solid background in applied physics, optical instrumentation. He will be able to understand the tools used by the team to model the light propagation under various geometrical configurations. Experimental skills in optical diagnostics in fluids will be appreciated
